John C. Campbell Folk School,
Friday, July 9 to Sunday, July 11, 2021
Learn to identify and utilize wild herbs and foods
that have long been a part of Appalachian life.
We'll explore the grounds of the Folk School as you learn botany basics, gather wild plants, and make herbal preparations to sample in class and carry home.
Students must be able to walk one mile at a moderate pace and be comfortable outdoors
in warm weather or light rain.
Coming up this summer!

For the June Wildcraft & Wine workshop, I'll be leading a leisurely plant walk to introduce you
to the wild herbs of early summer.
With the beautiful grounds of Terra Incognita Vineyard as our classroom, we’ll explore the many native and naturalized herbs that grow wild
in the Southern Appalachians.
After our plant walk, you'll enjoy a wine tasting
and non-alcoholic refreshments as we savor
a beautiful summer afternoon.
